01.01 · Storage4 questions
Storage.
We will store legal handguns and long guns — pistols, revolvers, long guns. With the arms dealer's licence (Art. 17 of the Weapons Act, WA), which must be granted before we open, we will also be able to take in special firearms that others will not accept. We do not accept ammunition or explosive, incendiary and similar hazardous substances.

No. gunBOX accepts firearms only; ammunition and ammunition components are excluded from storage. For ammunition and similar materials we refer you to the competent authorities.

Only you in person or a person authorised in writing, holding a valid official identity document and — where applicable — a valid weapons acquisition permit. The authorisation must be signed by hand. Every handover is acknowledged with a receipt.

For security reasons the storage location is never disclosed — neither publicly nor to customers. Handover and return take place in a dedicated handover room in Grenchen.

01.02 · Contract3 questions
Contract & terms.
The contract term corresponds to your payment method: one month (monthly), three months (quarterly) or twelve months (annually). The first period is the minimum term; thereafter the contract is automatically renewed for the same duration, unless you cancel the renewal no later than 30 days before the end of the period.

In writing or by e-mail, no later than 30 days before the end of the current contract period — the contract then ends at the end of the period. The current period is fixed. You may reclaim your firearm at any time (Art. 475 CO); if you return it before the end of the minimum term, costs for the effort already incurred may apply.

No. The contract and identification will be carried out exclusively in person on site at our headquarters. There will be no online identification and no ID uploads. Until we open, we take questions and registrations of interest; appointments will only be possible after that.

01.03 · Insurance2 questions
Insurance & security.
The stored firearms will be insured against theft and natural damage (fire, water, storm, landslide) throughout the entire storage period. The premium will be included. The insured value is defined per firearm in the contract; higher values can be additionally insured. The insurer's general terms and conditions of insurance are decisive.

Only the data necessary for processing the contract and for statutory obligations: identity details, contact data, firearm dossier (manufacturer, model, calibre, serial number, condition per firearm). Data is only passed on to authorities where required by law.

01.04 · Special4 questions
Special situations.
Heirs must, within six months from the date of death, either obtain the necessary permits themselves or transfer the firearms to an authorised person (Art. 8 para. 2bis WA). During this period gunBOX will be able to ensure legally compliant storage. We recommend getting in touch early in the event of inheritance.

For demilitarised assault rifles (e.g. Stgw 57 / Stgw 90) the breech is stored separately under lock and key in accordance with Art. 47 WO. Upon release, the firearm and breech are reunited after verification of authorisation.

Yes. However, the valuation usually takes place on site at your premises, especially for collections. We discuss the procedure and the costs with you in advance.
↳ Services
No. gunBOX does not sell firearms, ammunition or accessories — neither online nor on site. On request we mediate between seller and buyer, but do not ourselves become a contracting party. The transfer under weapons law is the responsibility of the parties.

01.05 · Costs1 question
Costs.
The costs are made up of a one-off initial registration, the box purchase and monthly storage rent; insurance is included. We will publish the prices at the opening.
